The following activities are suitable for introducing children to Astronomy, the movement of the sky over time and understanding where to find the Southern Cross, Planets etc.
Making Bush Clock (skills required: writing the months and the time am to pm) which will show the movement of the Southern Cross over a year, tell the time from it, and find N,S,E and W. Using the Bush Clock outside with a structure called Pipehenge, we will look at the sky and use the Bush Clock. This to be followed by exciting 3D Movies about the Solar System, Asteroids, Comets, Milky Way, Stars and the nearby Universe, then viewing at the telescopes.
