Mystery at the Observatory – Saturdays in May


Saturday 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th May

Come and celebrate the Heritage  of the Ballarat Municipal Observatory.

The Ballarat Municipal Observatory was the vision of the late James Oddie that provided the Ballarat community with a place where they could gaze at the marvels of the Universe and learn about its mysteries.

Together with the genius the late Captain Henry Evans Baker, the Ballarat Observatory became a well-known regional observatory in the late 19th century.

The heritage telescope collection will be in use for viewing, on Saturdays only,  during May and a Mystery  will be presented for you to solve.

4.00pm Tour and Mystery presented.

5.30pm Viewing  at the Telescopes, Jupiter visible.


3rd Rock Cafe open for refreshments and meals, bookings for meals required, contact 03 5332 7526 for information.
