Follow the Trail of the Emu



Collect an entry form from either venue and hand it in at the Observatory after you have visited both venues and have the appropriate box stamped, to go into the draw to win 1 of 3 sets of Binoculars. Binoculars are good for viewing wildlife on land or in the night sky.

Daytime Program: (Ballarat Wildlife Park)

9:00am – 5:30pm
Open every Day
Visit Ballarat Wildlife park to see a extensive range of Australian Wildlife including the Emu, freely grazing with the Kangaroos. Cafe open for refreshments.


5:30 – 7:30pm – Ballarat Observatory (Tuesday – Saturday)

Visit Ballarat Observatory and see the Emu, a shape familiar to aboriginal Victorians for 100’s of years. The centre of our Milky Way Galaxy is overhead at this time and the Emu is part of the Milky Way. Watch 3D Movies and if the weather is cloudy enjoy a talk about the Milky Way.Free return visit for viewing only if cloudy.
