Starry Winter Nights 2015

Saturday 27th June

Countdown to Hello? Pluto

Come along and enjoy great music and company in the cosey and warm Baker Hall.  The 3rd Rock /cafe is open for a meal or snack and warm drinks to keep the internal heater stoked.

Booking includes viewing at the telescopes – Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. The winter sky will be magnificent with the center of our Galaxy high up in the sky allowing us to explore some of the exotic objects that lie around it.

DRESS FOR THE SNOW so that your internal heater doesn’t drop too low!

5.30pm: Third Rock Cafe open.
5.30 – 6:30pm: Session 1 – Viewing at the telescopes  (depending on the weather)

6:30pm – 7:30pm:  Dolphy’s Albatross  – Shane Strachan – Guitars/Vocals and
Paul Simmons – Saxes/Flute – formed in late 2013 to play original compositions and a selection of modern day standards with the unusual line-up of guitar/vocals, saxes and flute. With influences ranging freely across Soul, R’nB, Folk, Standards, Country, and Gospel – all interlaced with a strong undercurrent of Jazz – Dolphy’s Albatross offers listeners “a cool, jazz tinged musical experience”.

Thanks to Dolphy’s Albatross for a great night
